Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar conducted an inspection at the Municipal Corporation (MC) Zone A office near Mata Rani Chowk on Thursday after the successful completion of a roof waterproofing project aimed at ensuring a safe and smooth working environment for staff.

The waterproofing work on the building’s roof was initiated following multiple reports of leakage during the recent rainy season. The move directly addresses a long-standing infrastructure issue that had been disrupting operations.

During the inspection, Senior Deputy Mayor Prashar also issued directions for the immediate establishment of an additional washroom for the female staff and visitors at the Zone A office. The existing ladies' washroom on the ground floor was reportedly in poor condition, prompting the female staff to demand an updated and supplementary facility.

MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, ATP Gurvinder Singh, SDO Akshay Bansal, and the contractor were present during the review.

Prashar confirmed that with the waterproofing complete, future leakage issues are not anticipated, and the demand for improved facilities has been met with the establishment of the new washroom. He added that the MC is actively seeking regular feedback from the staff to implement improvements in the existing infrastructure and ensure residents receive timely services.
