A senior official of the Punjab Transport Department, Ravinder Singh Gill, was found dead on Tuesday morning under tragic circumstances at his residence in Jalandhar Heights. Gill, 54, served as the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) for Jalandhar and was discovered unconscious in his bathroom by his personal security staff.

The incident came to light when Gill’s driver and gunman became concerned after he failed to emerge from the bathroom for an unusually long duration. Upon opening the door, they found him unresponsive on the floor and immediately alerted the local police.

Emergency responders and a police team reached the spot and took custody of the body. Preliminary investigations suggest that a sudden cardiac arrest may have caused the death.

The police have sealed the apartment and restricted entry to outsiders to preserve the scene for a detailed inquiry. While the death appears natural, police are investigating in detail to rule out any potential foul play.

The final rites for the deceased officer will take place in his native city of Bathinda. The police expect the formal post-mortem report to provide a conclusive cause of death within the coming days.
