The Municipal Corporation (MC) Ludhiana carried out a vigorous enforcement action on Thursday, sealing five under-construction buildings in the city for various violations. This ongoing drive targets all illegal construction, reinforcing the civic body's strict stance on unauthorized development.

The sealing drive successfully targeted two buildings on Malhar Road, one property in Mandir wali Gali, Ghumar Mandi, and two additional structures on the Ghumar Mandi main road.

The enforcement teams cited distinct reasons for taking action against the properties. The MC sealed the two buildings situated on the Ghumar Mandi main road because the owners failed to pay the mandatory Change of Land Use (CLU) fee.

The other three buildings faced sealing after their respective owners started construction work without first securing the legally required building plans approved by the civic body.

Assistant Town Planner (ATP - Zone D) Harvinder Singh confirmed that the action against the illegal buildings was executed following explicit directions from MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal. The Commissioner directed the owners to immediately get their building plans approved to regularize the structures.

Civic body officials stated that they will continue the intensive drive against illegal constructions in the coming days. They strongly appealed to all residents to obtain the necessary building plan approvals before starting any construction work; otherwise, the corporation will take strict action against violations.
