Budhewal Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd has begun its crushing season for 2025–26, with operations starting on November 29 and the mill currently running at full crushing capacity. The start of the season has brought relief to sugarcane farmers in the mill area, as cane is being crushed on a priority basis, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations.

General Manager Gurvinder Singh said the timely crushing has helped farmers clear their fields without delay, allowing them to prepare for sowing the next crop. He added that the mill has already released around ₹2 crore as payment for sugarcane purchased up to December 4, with the amount directly credited to the bank accounts of landowners.

Assuring farmers of continued financial support, Singh said adequate arrangements have been made to ensure timely payments throughout the entire crushing season. All payments for procured sugarcane will continue to be transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts to avoid any inconvenience.

The General Manager also appealed to sugarcane growers to supply clean, fresh and bagasse-free cane strictly according to the slips issued for the current season. He said better-quality cane would help the mill achieve higher recovery and improved overall performance.

Calling the cooperative sugar mill the farmers’ own institution, Singh urged growers to supply maximum sugarcane to the mill, stating that its progress and efficiency directly benefit the farming community.
