Acting on the directions of Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, zonal commissioners of the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana on Thursday held separate meetings with councillors across all four civic zones to accelerate development works and ensure timely redressal of public grievances.

The meetings took place at the respective zonal offices, with Zonal Commissioner Abhishek Sharma chairing the interaction at MC Zone A, Neeraj Jain at Zone B, Gurpal Singh at Zone C, and Jasdev Sekhon at Zone D. Councillors from different political parties participated in the discussions, raising area-specific issues related to infrastructure, sanitation and civic services.

Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar and Deputy Mayor Prince Johar also attended the meetings and issued necessary directions to officials to ensure that pending works are completed without delay and public concerns are addressed at the ground level.

Emphasising accountability, MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal said the zonal commissioners have been instructed to hold such meetings with councillors every fortnight to closely monitor development projects and resolve issues faced by residents. He added that proceedings of each meeting will be submitted to his office for review.

Dachalwal further warned that no laxity would be tolerated in the execution of development works and directed officials to remain active in the field to assess the situation firsthand. He said the civic body’s focus remains on maintaining cleanliness, expediting development projects and delivering hassle-free municipal services to the residents of Ludhiana.
